As part of continuous effort of the association to reach all section of our community and as part of our children's program, the Gambian Association of Minnesota embarked on it 's very first back to school program for kids which took place on the 29th of November 2009 at Center for Families in Minneapolis, MN. All kids from Kindergarten to grade 8th were outfitted with winter gear, hats, gloves and scarfs. This is part of our back to school initiative that is gear towards providing every kid within our community with a back pack ready for school each year at start of the school year. We want take this opportunity to thank all parents for bringing their kids to the occasion, for their participation and continuous support of the Association.

The Gambia Association in Minnesota, USA, has donated 35,000 books for all levels of the educational institutions.
The books which were shipped in a 40 footer container to The Gambia, were handed over to officials of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (MoBSE) on Tuesday 6th October, 2009. Wuyeh Sanneh, president of the Association, stated ....
40 foot container of textbooks worth over $165,000 heading for The Gambia from Minnesota! The Gambian Association of Minnesota would like to take this opportunity to announce the shipment of a 40-foot container of 35,000 textbooks consisting of 20 Pallets (589 boxes) to The Gambia.The container left on the 27th of May 2009, and is expected in Banjul by the end of July. This came as a result of long and tireless efforts and collaboration between the Gambian Association of Minnesota and our donor partners-Books For Africa, and Money Gram International......
